I'm in this large debate..

Right now in terms of an intake modification, right now all I have is the k&n drop in.

I'm at the crossroads where I know I want to get the z-tube.

But I do not know if I will just have the z-tube with the K&N drop in I have now.
Or
Get the Z-tube with the JWT pop charger.

Reason why it's a debate for me is because
Is there any performance differences between the two?
I'm a torque guy, and I'd prefer to feel the car move instantly vs the hp of top end.. (just my preference).

1. heat shielding: the K&N uses the stock airbox so less heat is in the way, vs. the JWT although it has a heat shield, in my opinion it doesn't look 100% effective.

2. sound: what would sound better?
a. K&N drop in alone (I know this isn't the answer but just listing out everything)
b. K&N drop in with Ztube
c. JWT pop charger with Ztube

I know the z-tube alone should have a different sound once installed if it was just run alone with my drop-in right? Due to the sound baffle differences?

My mod's-fund is tight right now due to engagement as well as school priorities.
I figured before my tax rebate comes back that I'd just do some well-asking around here before making a purchase.
I searched to the best of my knowledge but it lead me to have these questions.

If anyone may please get back to me with your opinions or personal encounters, please feel free to chime in with any constructive feedback, thank you. Sorry for the many ('noob') questions. - and for posting in the wrong section!

lots of posts about these kinds of things

summary:
no performance difference
possible heatsoak with jwt but it seems to be an iffy thing
jwt is known for its growl
ztube is a lot smoother maybe a bit more of a growl and throttle response but nothing really measurable

Thank you Xet,
I'm assuming the drop-in K&N with the z-tube alone will not get a growl-like sound?

I have K&N with the Ztube and I honestly dont notice much of a difference. Maybe the engine is a tad bit louder if anything at all. Like Xet said I wouldn't worry about this if I was you I would just get the Z tube and call it a day. No performance is added so why spend money right now when you said its tight.

Just get the z-tube and a pop charger. It is the most common setup for our cars, and it sounds GREAT.
