Panel Above Pedals

Panel Above Pedals

Anyone else find their rubbing the panel above the gas, clutch.....pedals. Anyone with mods by cutting away part of it please comment.

I rub somtimes. I fiddled with adjustments to the seat and steering column until I found a comfortable position where I seldom hit my knees.

The panel is probably part of the passive restraint system. I seem to recall that the manufacturers put knee bolsters in the cars with airbags (basically, every car nowadays) so that, in the event of a head on collision where the driver is not wearing the seatbelt, they don't slide underneath the steering wheel. Helps the airbag protecty a non-belted occupant more effectively. Can't remember where I read that - can't swear it's true - but it sounds reasonable to me.

Hi,

Not so much my knees, but the tops of the feet rub the panel which looks like I could cut just a small section without doing any damage?

My feet never hit it, maybe your feet are too big and you should think about modifying them and leaving your poor G alone!
