neff--

maybe take the extra 400 and get the fji Y pipe to go with it....

i think thats the same price as the stillen then (not sure though)

Well since I've got the "apparently freer flowing" JIC Y-Pipe sitting in my den I think I'll stick with that. Oh and thanks for posting those damn pics of your exhaust. After seeing how good it looks, I ordered one today from Performance Nissan. If you show pics of your S/C set up I'll have to hire someone to hurt you. They are currently out of stock and should have more in stock around 3-4 weeks (sounds too familiar...)

Anyone know of anyone who has the Fujitsubo Exhaust for the G35 in stock and cheaper than $840 shipped? TIA...

"apparently".......

well, to each his own, i guess.... i know the fuji brand is good stuff too, and the cross balancer tube does work better than without (from experience).....

either way, were still bolting to the same end result (albeit different propulsion to get there...)

oh yeah, btw....

Re: Help with Exhuast system WHICH TO GET ?

SMS, don't worry I've already purchased all the tickets I'll need by dropping close to $100 to pay for the pavilion for the day. We'll have A/C, a huge grill, room for 100 people, tables and chairs, volleyball, playgrounds for the kids, natural springs to swim in, canoes and a very large lake, horse shoes, and all kinds of other stuff to do. Someone should bring a football or soccerball too !

How many tickets will all that buy me? With my luck you'll say 15, doh!

Re: Help with Exhuast system WHICH TO GET ?

There's several good exhaust systems out there. My recommendation, do your own up-front and personal research, and then buy the system that's right for you.

That said, I find the statement that Stillen's exhaust is the most expensive not exactly correct, IMO.

Using Performace Nissan's website information -- http://www.performancenissanparts.co...?cPath=171_255 -- I found the following prices.

Stillen G35 Coupe - $1,216.00
A dual stainless steel catback system that includes an x-pipe, two resonators, two mufflers and dual 2.5" mandrel bent tubing.

FUJITSUBO Legalis-R G35 Coupe - $785.00
A single Y-pipe back stainless steel system comprised of a single resonator, single mufler and 3" (?) mandrel bent tubing.

FUJITSUBO Y-Pipe 350z / G35 - $450.00
This Y-pipe makes the Legalis-R a catback system.

FUJITSUBO Legalis-R & FUJITSUBO Y-Pipe - G35 Coupe single pipe catback system - $1,235.00.

Stillen G35 Sedan dual catback system (common muffler) - $964.00

FUJITSUBO Legalis-R G35 Sedan - $640.00

FUJITSUBO Y-Pipe 350z / G35 - $450.00

FUJITSUBO Legalis-R & FUJITSUBO Y-Pipe - G35 Sedan single pipe catback system - $1,090.00.

Re: Help with Exhuast system WHICH TO GET ?

How does it work again?? The X pipe is good for high rpms and the Y pipe is better for low rpm range. Am I right??

Not necessarily. There's many factors to be considered when designing a quality exhaust system.

As part of your research I suggest you check out this article.

DaveO, thanks for the article however that only compares the X pipe against the H pipe configuration and not the Y pipe.

Re: Help with Exhuast system WHICH TO GET ?

mamboking,

IMO, both a x-pipe and a properly designed y-pipe can offer torque and horsepower increases when combined with a well designed exhaust system.

Which one is "better"? That's for each of us to decide for ourselves.

I did my research, developed my priorities, and made my buying decision a little over six months ago. None of the newer systems have caused me any buyer's remorse.

Re: Help with Exhuast system WHICH TO GET ?

what exhaust system offers the most low end torque? I dont know whether to believe specs on websites where they are selling the exhausts or not.... they alwasy say "u gain 999 billion ft/lbs and the same amount of horse power with our awsome yada yada yada" and then dyno proven they end up being less than half the claims....
