thanks for all the input guys keeping my G and building up the auto tranny and just doing a motor swap for one with lower miles and building it up to hold boost sounds tempting and probably more cost effective than buying a G thats a 6MT im just so bored of driving automatic lol

Who cares? If he has no better use for it then by all means spend it on something you love doing. People spend $20K on a trip to odd locations around the world that last only a month and that's it...at least you can enjoy a 500+whp G for years...and then get something back if you sell it.

built motor, twin turbo it and call it a day. Both are attainable with your budget. Don't play games with little ricey mods or NA mods that do nothing performance wise.

+1
Besides, I don't think there's such a thing as bad spending in this economy. This economy needs all the help it can get (money being spent) plus everything from houses to cars to stock is cheap as hell right now. Spend away buddy!!!!!

umm... ok in 20 years when you're looking back on your life, what sounds better.... "i've travelled to crazy locations, seen the world, seen things most people don't see in their lifetime" or... "i owned the sickest G35". if you go the latter, i bet your replies would be something like "your old car ran on gas? how lame"

put 15k in investments (i say oil) and buy a new gtr in 3 years. spend the 5k having fun on other things before the gtr. think about it.

worse advice ever!

you dont wanna take over the last owners headaches

to the OP, sent you car to a reputable shop: FP, GTM, AAM, SFR, Intense, there are a few others

do lots of research and figure out which one work best for you

then get a TT kit (i really like the GTM TT kit), rebuild you tranny and rebuild you motor. 20k is gonna be pushing it but you might be able to pull it off

look into to Forged Performance shortblock, last time i checked its only $3500, which is a steal for a great motor

That depends. I could care less who has traveled where...I DO care about cars though because it's my passion ( as can traveling be the passion of some people ). It's all about your ( or the OP in this case ) preference.

In the end, if he can afford it ( which is KEY ) then by all means...be happy.

ok i'll give you that one. if it does truly make the OP happy. but my investment advice ima stick to. or at least don't pour 20g in motor swap manual tranny etc. not wise at all. better to buy another G and then turbo it, 20g should be enough considering the value of these cars lately.
