Alternator Squeals with Load !

Yea im totally lost on this one. I put a procharger on my G and ever since ive had a belt squealing sound when i start it up. It goes away after a few mins of idling. well i was testing my battery bc it died the other day. well while load testing the battery at idle the squeal comes back and goes away when i let off on the tester. I tested this again by turning on all my accessories and it squeals, i shut it all off and goes away. But the alternator charges at 14.5 . Im lost please help????

Check the tension on your belts. The squeal is a dead giveaway.

yea i checked and rechecked the tension, even replaced the belt. I duno i think maybe the bearings in the alternator might be going, but should make noise all the time, it only happens when cold idle and accessories are in use.

When the load is increased it is more likely that a loose pulley will squeal. Pooched bearings make a different sound than belt squeal. Try turning the steering wheel the next time you hear the squeal and see if it increases or not. If it does, it's definitely your belt tension.

You need to tighten your belt. I am 100% convinced your belt is loose, even if you think it's tightened enough to the touch.

I had the same exact problem when I would turn on my accessories, when the fan would go on, or when I started the car.

Tighten your belt. It should be just tight enough to turn about 45 degrees.
