Motordyne Plenum Spacers.. 5/16 or 1/2???

Hey guys, I have a 07 5AT coupe bought about 6 months ago and I'm startin to put in mods. I already put a AEM cai which which sounds nice and all and I've heard alot of people recommending the spacers.

Can someone explain whats the differece between the two sizes b/c I've searched but found no answer. Any input would be great

I hate to be "that guy" but have you truly searched. I've found that if you plan on going F/I, get the 1/2". If not, just get the 5/16". Plus you have an 5AT, same as me, most recommend just the 5/16" spacer alone without the mrev2 will be the best bang for the buck!

Didn't your Dad ever tell you never to use the word ASSUME? Well don't, FI means Forced Induction, which can be accomplished by turbo or supercharger. There's really very little difference between the 5/16" and 1/2" except you'll lose that ugly engine cover with the 1/2"....it won't fit!

like evereyone said, get the 5/16. I have them, its the best bang for the buck along w/an MREV2 (which you dont really need since its an auto). I would recommend keeping the engine cover off also, all it does is store heat, i havnt had mine on since i put in the spacers/Mrev.

I was thinking abouta spacer, but after seeing the Kinetex Plenum, I think I'm going to go w/ that instead, just not sure which one.... $450 dollar difference to go for the 30hp instead of 14 gain, although it does look alot nicer!!

The mrev2 only helps the rev-up engines. They were only available in 05-06 6MT applications I believe and produced 298 HP not 280 like ours. The 6MT was available in either the coupe or sedan.

30HP on an NA motor? No. Do some research and you'll see that the Kintex manifold often times makes less power than the MD spacer. The only time people have seen 20hp+ gains with these manifolds is when running forced induction.

i believe the consesus is the 5/16 is the best one but when i look at the dyno charts it seems that they 1/2 pretty much makes more power through out the entire curve... the one big thing is i do not believe the strut bar on the 350 or those of you that have one of the g fit with the 1/2 ....

check there dyno charts it def seems as if the 1/2 makes the better power... if you are a 05 06 def get the mrev2 and the spacer though.

You are going to need osiris or some type of tune to truely see the gains that are potentially there with the CAI spacer and mrev 2... So your best bet is to do everything at once and tune it, youll be the happiest because all those mods and a tune will certainly wake your car up .
