Gordgee

Gordgee,

Are all of my front mounted wires supposed to terminate on the same bolt hole? I originally had one oem ground and two hyper grounds in the left front hole and one oem and two hypergrounds in the right front hole...I just switched them all to the right fron hole and noticed no difference...but it seems, from all the pics, that this is what should be done.

Thanks buddy.

Re: Gordgee

If I remember correctly, somewhere in the middle of the huge Grounding Kit thread, it does say that all of the wires on the front should attach to one ground point.

Re: Gordgee

Cool, thanks...I think you are right...Gordgee said it towards the end of the 8 mile thread I believe. Either way, I notice no difference. I am going to check the tranny one, add the last three and call it day with this thing. lol

Re: Gordgee

gsedanman,

For some crazy reason your post did not post on the board...I got the email notification thank God so your efforts were not ignored. :-) You said:

John, I just retrieved this off page 1 of the Hyper Ground Resource Thread. It only shows Gord's 5 wire install, but it clearly shows different connection points.
There are more pics in the thread I'm sure, but why not p/m Gord for a quicker response. He may not see this thread as easily as a private message.
Colin

I would PM him, but his email address has disappeared if you click on his user name so I had to do the bost...thanks again for the follow up.

Re: Gordgee

Sorry for the late reply. I wasn't logged on earlier.

Yes, all wires go to the same point, to create a "cluster". The difference is subtle, and may not be noticed, but of course, there are a few ppl that state they haven't noticed any effect from a complete H-G system!

There is also a difference that has been noticed when the factory ground wires is not connected to this point, so add these to the H-G cluster.

I'm assuming you've made your own wires. Make sure the crimps are as solid as you can make them! Very important as well.

Let us know how it goes.

Re: Gordgee

No need to apologize...I have the Z-Xtreme 7 wire kit...you were too busy to make me a set last summer so you referred me over to him...his wires are great...but I am one of those that has not felt or seen an iota of a difference...but I still love the looks and I know it can't hurt...Could you do me a huge favor and let me know the lengths for wires 8-10...I figure at this point I should stick with the same wires from him, but he doesn't know the lenghts for the TCM/ECU and where ever the heck the 8th wire goes...I can't keep up...then I guess CATO has 2 other wires over off the passenger side fender to the battery or something...aghhhhh lol

Re: Gordgee

Being 100% honest here...I felt a difference in the car once I had 15K on it...that was it so far...It sounds 100% better and looks 100% cooler with all the Blue stuff and the Sound improving CAI, etc...but nothing, past the care being broken in has made it any faster in the butt dyno...with the exceptio of an ECU reset back b/f I did the Plenum and TS ECU Reflash.

My tranny has always shifted the same and the car idles smooth/runs quiet..it has always downshifted to a lower gear or two when in manumatic mode and in 5...so I think I am all set regarding the 5AT software...

When I owned my 94 SHO and I put a Superchips Chip onto the EPROM Port...it turned the car into an animal...I have had two Z71 Trucks...a 97 and my current Sierra Denali version...both trucks have had the Hypertech Power Programmer programming done to them...and it was night and day for both of them...in the butt dyno...and the Hypertech only costs $320 and it takes me 5 minutes to upload about 10 different inputs...and even better...1 minute to reset it back to stock if I need to go to the dealer with it.

The Superchips chip was like $280...none of this $520 with Shipping BS for something that I can't tell anything in the butt dyno for. Of course if it richens things up so I don't run lean that will be worth it there...but the dyno will tell me that.

Again, me just being honest.

Re: Gordgee

I wish I could help you with the extra wires, I really do. But since I am a Commercial manufacturer, supplying tech info to adapt other kits opens me up to certain legal concerns. I try to help out as much as I can with the more widely known information as is readily available.

Also, understand that the extra wires have been developed over the course of a year through R&D at a cost to GroundingGear Ltd. Therefore the information is proprietary and protected by Copyright for the use of GroundingGear™ clients only. You may not believe this, but I've been operating in the Red since Incorporating, even though virtually all of the "knock-off" kits made by others makes money!

At least some ppl now are considering H-G kits as a valid modification and some will even try the extra GroundingGear™ developed wires as an upgrade to the basic system. So the benefactors of the money that I put into R&D and promotion has usually been others by others including Stillen, Zxtreme, Sun Auto, etc. as well as numerous others making the kits in their basements! I think the only one that has ever ackowledged the 7th wire as being developed on this forum was Zxtreme, and I maintain a cordial relationship with Gyula and even refer others to him.

I hope you now understand my reluctance and responsibility to not "divulge" the information about the other wires.

Re: Gordgee

gordgee,

I hear you, but as I mentioned you were the one who referred me to Zxtreme...so what am I supposed to do? I can't PM or email you b/c there is no link to your info when I click on your user name so this is all I have...

I really don't care if I buy the wires from you or him, I just want to get this done...so what needs to happen so I can finish this.

Thanks.
