Blind Spot Mirrors
Re: Blind Spot Mirrors
I'm probably similar in age to you. However, no-one 'enlightened' me until the late 70's!
Or maybe you are older? Getting tired now. Need to tak a nap....

Re: Blind Spot Mirrors
I adjust my driver side mirror so that when a car leaves my view in my rear view mirror, it enters into view on my side mirror. This means that the driver side mirror doesn't actually see the back of my car.
I put blind spot mirrors on my previous cars, but haven't yet put them on my G. One additional benefit not mentioned is that blind spot mirrors allow you to see your rear tires, making backing up a bit easier. I suppose auto tilting mirrors would do the same!
I thought you are supposed to have a bit of your car in the mirror? 2-3 years ago I took a drivers-education course to lower my insurance and the instructor kept saying to keep a bit of the car in the mirror. Also there was a car simulator that would not let you start the ignition until you adjust the mirrors like this.
