i have a 2006 gcoupe and my 5th gear randomly wont shift in sometimes, mostly when i am in high rpms. when i shift it into 5th it sticks and grinds as if im not pressing the clutch. my friend said that my year g has problems with the 5th syncro but im not sure.. does any one else have this problem!?
should i take her into the dealer and check it out!? please help! thanks

 

I thought I was crazy! Over the past 2 days this has happened to me 3 times!!! i've had my G for almost 4 years and I have never missed a gear. I'm gonna have mine checked out tomorrow.

 

My '06 has had this problem since I got it. Lately though, it somehow fixed itself, because 5th gear never grinds anymore. Don't know if that's a good thing or not, but I'm not complaining lol.

 

i have an 04' coupe and last year, every time i downshifted from 6th-5th, it would grind. it wouldnt grind when i shifted from 4th-5th. just 6th-5th. weird. i brought it to the dealership, got a loaner car, and got it fixed under warranty. i guess the fifth gear synchros were going.

 

my '05 started doing this about a week and a half ago on 4 different occasions. Dealership said they'll take a look at it when I come in for my 2nd OCT follow-up.
