engine belt

I took my car in for an oil change and the mechanic found one of the belts has cracks. He said it needs to be changed but still good for couple of thousand miles. Should i be worried about this and get replaced asap? i have an 06 w/ 35k miles

My belts are cracked and I would change them out immediately. I live in Vegas and the heat can do some magical things on the belts.

Just go to pep boys and buy a belt. I know the AC belt was $15, I'm sure the other isn't much more.

well your belts still look good.....I just noticed this yesterday after getting my oil changed in my car....the oil place didnt notice it but I caught it when my car was slipping really bad upon acceleration...I dont mean tires slipping I think the slip lights came on because of the belt looking like this...
