Anyone using these plugs? are they worth the money or should I just pick up some iridium spark plugs?

One word for you-crap. Stick with stock or iridium.

 

My friend had these plugs and they melted on him. Total crap. NGK IRIDIUM!!

 

NGK RULES!!!!! i did it myself... and god damn it 3 was flooded.. lol.
change my own valve cover! god damn dealer wanted almost 2 grand...
valve cover: 300-400
valve cover gaskets: 30
ngk spark plugs: 40
royal purple oil and oil filter: 50
a girl did everything on her own in 4 hours: TOO HOT TO HANDLE B!TCHES... i mean priceless...

 

Just picked up 6 NGK iridium plugs, just waiting for UPS to deliver my Ztube JWT pop charger and my Gator back belts... once I get everything I plan to install plugs, belts, and new intake!!!



Question: What is the stock GAP for Spark plugs and what torque do I need to set the plugs when installing? btw will be using Anti seize on the plugs

 

gap = 1.1 mm gap
torque = Torque the plug to 20 FT-LBs

what do u mean by setting the plugs? i just randomly put it in and torque it! LOL
p.s. u can get the ngk iridium spark plugs from your local autozone or pep boys.
i get it for cheaper from my friendly discounts. lol, yay me!

 

I think he means indexing the plugs.

I always do it when i have a head off the car, but it's a PITA when it's on the car.

Basically, you angle the open face of the electrode towards the intake valve so that the spark is not shielded by the ground strap towards the incoming vaporized fuel.

It does give gains, however very minimal, which is why I say it's not worth it with the heads on the car.

Can I use a coin style gap or should I pick up a feeler style...? ( I think I read some were it's not good to use a coin style on certain spark plugs )

 

ROFL, Pulstar plugs have the best marketing but the worst science ever.

The OEM plugs are fine. Plugs don't make extra power, they only help restore "lost" power. There's a reason spark plug designs haven't changed much in the last few decades -- the design works.

 

Installed ngk iridium plugs today, as I was finishing up the last one it started to rain.. had the rest put back together in about 5 min... car runs fine. thanks all for the help

 

Stick with NGK. Different motors work better with different plugs. The VQ works great with NGK...
