car overheats when a/c is running, is it my ac/condenser fan?

I have been troubleshooting my car for over a month to pinpoint why my car is overheating.

I finally came to the conclusion that the temp needle starts to rise while the car is at idle or at a stoplight. This only happens when the a/c is running. As soon as i turn the a/c off the temp needle will eventually go back down to 50%.

The car never overheats when the a/c is off though. So I know it has to do something with the A/C.

I am thinking the problem lies in my fans (the 2 fans located between the engine and the radiator). The driver's side fan doesnt always spin up, sometimes i would have to manually spin it with my fingers to start it up, and when it does spin, it is very slow and not strong. I am thinking my the motors are bad and i need a replacement fans.

I have no leaks at all. A/C works and blows cool air, its just my temp needle will rise when i have the a/c running.

Can any experts in here help me out. Some people have said i have air in my cooling system. and that is the cause. But it looks like the cause is my fans not functioning properly. Now I have no idea how the fans are suppose to function on a fully working g35. I have nothing to compare it to. My friend has an 07 coupe, and when his a/c is on, both fans are spinning and very fast. Not sure if the fans differ on an 07 from an 04 like mines or are they all the same?

I have an 04 coupe, can someone tell me where the temp needle is suppose to be exactly positioned during normal driving conditions? Mine is at 50%

Thanks in advance.

45-50% is normal.

You can do a simple check on the fan. I believe that both fans should be spinning when your AC is on. It has a low temp and a high temp setting. When AC is on it should always be on when your car is under ~20-25 MPH.

You probably also have a lot of stuff between the radiator and the AC condenser. I would pull the radiator out a little and wash out that stuff with a hose from the inside of the car. I had this problem and my radiator was leaking slowly and creating air bubbles in the system. I replaced the radiator and have had no problems since.
