Is that "C" in CAI true? Stillen/Popcharger/Oem

Results from looking at intake air temps as actually shown at the MAF sensor. At speed means 60mph+.

Stillen CAI: At speed it draw's in air that is +9 to +11* degree's to ambiant at speed. 3 minute heat soak test show intake air temps of 128 and a 2 minute heat soak saw 112-115
(* member Xman's data)

Popcharger: +19 to ambiant at speed and 134-138 after 5 minute heat soak

Oem intake: +9/+10 to ambiant at speed. 2 minute heat soak test data numbers not listed.

Reworked K&N 350Z Typhon: +7 to ambiant at speed.
2 minute heat soak results after 8 miles at 65mph, 111 degree's, 3 minutes 113 degree's, 4 minutes 114 degree's. 2 minute heat soak after in town driving 123 degree's

Reworked K&N 350Z Typhon with airbox lid removed: (much like a popcharger that has been surrounded, vs just a side sheild).
+10 degree's to ambiant. No 2 minute heat soak, but in just 30 seconds I saw 149 degree's when stopped at the MAF.

Reworked K&N 350Z Typhon with airbox lid removed and hood opened as if on a dyno: A/C off
ambiant 102
water 201
intake 109
intake 116 2 minutes
water 194 (at 2 min mark)
intake 118 3 minutes

The Stillen/Popcharger/Oem test result's can be found in this thread https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...&sb=5&part=all

Thank goodness someone is actually measuring things instead of believing marketing hype.

Keep in mind every 11F is a 1% power loss due to lower air density.

You should see what exposed [to underhood heat] chargers do to the ignition advance.........sluggish to say the least.
Lots of experience with them on G20, J30, Q45, in every case they came back with some complaint in the middle of summer.
A 15 second drag race is not enough time to cool the underhood air.
