Fuel leak on RFS - question
By buddy recently went FI, and a couple days ago we found a nasty fuel leak coming from his RFS pressure regulator. We discovered it was coming from the hex screw in the front that plugs the hole where the gauge normally goes. It appeared there was some gummy substance around the plug (dissolved plumbers tape perhaps?) and tightening it with a hex key seemed to stop the leaking.
Now there is still one thing I am curious/concerned about. The right angle fuel line input coming into the bottom is loose -- I could rotate the entire fitting with my fingers. We can't tighten the fitting though because the whole line rotates along with it. However, fuel is not leaking from here it would appear.
Is this something that may bite him in the rear down the road, or is it normal?
Thanks...
