Valve Lifter ticking?

ok so here is the status..... My car has recently started making the obvious noise of a valve rattle. it most vehicles this can be an easy adjustment right?... apparently in this car they are not adjustable... so i at least checked them to see if they were within standards.
i checked them cold and used cold check specks intake: 0.010-0.013 exhaust: 0.011-0.015 in. tonight i only checked the left bank (2,4,6) and they were within standards. i dont have a gage for 0.011 but i have all the others.
on the exhaust cam they either were perfect on 0.012, tight but didn't fit 0.010, or loose but didn't fit 0.013.
on the intake cam they all fit the 0.010 or loose but didn't fit 0.012.
tomorrow i plan on finishing up with the right side but i think its unlikely that any of them will be out of standards.
i guess what i'm getting to is i know what loose valves sound like. but if thats not the problem then what could it be?

any input would help.
thanks
Twilight

any help.....

i checked the right bank and put it all back together last night. same as the left.

i talked to a friend of mine and he said to check the timing chain for slack cause if the tensioner is going bad the chain might rattle a little.

has any body at all had any experience with this? oh and the car only has 60k on it

thanks
Twilight

Its common to have a slight valve tick in our cars, but its not normally anything wrong with the engine, they can just be noisy. With the timing chain tensioners, they can go bad but its not very common. Especially at 60K miles. You might still be under warranty on the powertrain if you want them to check it out.
