Air/Fuel Question

Ok I have a question for you guys, I recently installed a wideband O2 sensor on my car, and the last couple of days when it has been raining non stop here in Miami my fuel mixture has improved by as much as .6 across the board. I was wondering could it be that the lower road temperatures due to the rain, or the intake taking in less air because of the water (I have the NISMO intake). Dumb question maybem but just wondering. -Thanks

Re: Air/Fuel Question

What do you mean by improved? It got richer by .6 or leaner? What was the A/F ratio before and after?

Re: Air/Fuel Question

From bone dry desert to torrential downpour humidity changes air density by less than 2%.Each 11F drop in temperature increases density 1%..

Inexpensive [under $10,000] Widebands are not very accurate. The only true way to to capture all the exhaust in giant air bags and analyse [what the factory does in engine dyno tests].

Errors [3-6%] creep in from oxygenated or ethanolized gasoline. Temperature compensation curve errors are significant.
