I wouldn't worry too much about it though... or stress about getting it installed. It is a good option to have - but honestly, you aren't going to tell a difference when you drive it...
^I agree...
If you drove a car with & then drove a car w/o, I'd bet you would never know the difference.
The spacer itself is the most important piece

Can I check to see if the copper is installed without taking off my engine cover? I'm in college and dont have any wrenches or anything with me.

Just went out and looked, I see what looks like some piece of copper after my intake tube by my engine. Here is a picture of it

Yeah, that's the copper iso.
On the bottom side of the copper is where the heater lines connect.
The thick gasket is the thermal break.

So we're all in agreement that im okay without the aramid gasket? (which is kind of nice because currently I cant find it).. I just dont want to have wasted a ton of money getting the copper iso and not be getting any of the benefits.

Yeah you're good to go. Like the others have said, the aramid gasket doesn't make a huge difference, it just sucks that you paid for it and they didn't install it.

+1. If they charged you to take off the lower collector, you should get a refund... its less work to do just the plenum spacer and copper coolant plate. Not much less, but still - they shouldn't charge you for work they didn't do (especially considering they determined it wasn't necessary - that's not their decision).

OP you are fine as is... but get some refund (on principal if nothing else).
