Technosquare ECU INSTALLED

Fedex got here at 12 PM after my 2 hour sit by the door session =)

Installed it, no SES light came on so the gas pedal reset wasnt necessary....driving impressions:

-Just driving around, the car seems to be more reponsive, the gas pedal is alot more sensitive, and I'm loving every minute of it. That "drive by wire delay" is alot less now than it was before.
-Down low tq feels improved, especially between 2500 and 4500. A few times I had to look at the gear selector and say....wow, I'm in 4th? (Its not insane, but its a very large difference in these rpms)

So, moderate driving has been improved upon. Its not ungodly faster when your just driving, but the difference is quite noticeable and enjoyable.

-Low speeds, high rpms are great. I mashed 1st @ 5 mph down a little back road by me that no one uses and ran it to about 65. Acceleration felt much quicker post 4.5 K and after 5.5K its a whole new ball game. Where the car use to "lag" slightly it now flies through like its supposed to.

-Mid speeds (50-100), High rpms were alot, alot, alot more crazy. I cannot stress enough how big of a sweet spot this car has now. I did two 50mph 2nd gear drop ins and ran to 7100 rpms with second, 6600 with 3rd. Its not that it "feels faster" because it really doesnt, it actually feels alot smoother, but watching the tach blow through 5K nearly twice as fast as stock makes you think wow....this thing really can move.

-High speed, high rpm. (80-140 pulls) Honestly, I feel this area got the biggest improvement, yet again. 4th and 5th feel so much more powerful, and the car doesnt even feel like its trying to hit 120 now. The power drop off post 6600 is more noticeable at these speeds, but Im pretty convinced shifting at 7100 in every gear is beneficial for racing, but not for the motor. In other words, save the extra 500 for when you need it, IE: Not on the road

Shifting out of every gear @ 7100 rpms makes the transitions alot smoother. I dont know if thats due to the falling hp/tq curves, or if its because it kicks into the next gear a little bit higher in the sweet spot of the motor. I really would like to race my car shifting at 6600 rpms vs my car at 7100 rpms to see the actual straight line difference. 1/4 mile track here I come.

Is it worth it? Well, its just like any other bolt on. You pay a [censored] load to put a huge smile on your face the day you get it, and a smile every time you think about whats lurking under your glove box. The performance gain is very impressive, more so than any other mod I've done, however, I wont realize the true potential of this mod until I get my crawford headers and fujit exhaust installed, as I am running slightly rich. Id definatly say this is by far the best mod I've done yet, worth it 100% of the way, and to back it up TS is a great company to deal with and very helpful.

Re: Technosquare ECU INSTALLED

based on information from previous threads..yes i did a search...

the ECU should run around $450 and whether or not a dealer can detect the ECU is still up for debate. BUT people are leaning to not detectable. TS claims the dealer won't know.

i can't blame the fact that not everyone checks this forum every 30 minutes and reads 95% of the threads

Re: Technosquare ECU INSTALLED

No the dealer cannont detect the ECU....normally
When they do a scan they will not see any tags or signatures left by TS because they do not leave any -HOWEVER- if they were to test the TB and see that it opens to 100% or to look at the A:F curves, they would get the idea that something is up.

As for price, check their page. $600 + 20 for shipping. They over night it back, so your only without your car for "one day" technically.

Re: Technosquare ECU INSTALLED

I got the TS ECU a couple weeks ago and it's great. The driveability of the car is so much better. Feels smoother. And after 4k rpm, the car feels a lot meaner. You summed up the differences pretty well.

Wow sounds like a lot to gain from the ECU... however you speak of the MT , I drive an AT and am curious if I will see similar gains (since I don't have control of the RPMs)
