Got Aluminum pedals. No rubber nubs on gas pedal?

My aluminum pedals arrived today. There are rubber nubs on all the pedals except for the gas pedal, which just has holes in it. This is the way it looks at the install page too:

Is this the way it's supposed to be? I'm wondering how that's going to work during the winter when I get in the car after walking across a parking lot full of snow. Isn't it likely my right foot is going to slip off the pedal while accelerating. Anyone else in the snowbelt have these without the rubber nubs?

No nubs is normal - that's just the way it is. As far as snow, well being from California I only see snow if I go skiing - and I wouldn't take my G for that.

I just came from Missouri winter with them on. No problems. That said, because coupes don't like snow, I drove the I30 mostly.

Re: Got Aluminum pedals. No rubber nubs on gas pedal?

Someone posted on another forum that there are no nubs on the gas for safety reasons - don't want your foot to stick to the gas, but you do want it to stick to the brake and clutch. Makes sense.

BTW - I put these on yesterday - humidity 90%. What a PIA - even using a heat gun to warm up the brake and clutch it was a real struggle to get them on. Burned my arm on my worklight and lost the gas pedal clip when I pulled my arm away, (it's got to be somewhere in the car but can't be found). I had to cut the clip off the stock gas pedal and use that. I'll order the correct part next week.

The aluminum pedals look great though, a nice contrast with the graphite interior. I think all 6MTs (coupe and sedan) should come with these stock.

It was so muggy you could cut the air with a knife. I was wearing a ball cap. The measure of how much you're sweating is how far down the bill from the crown the sweat goes - yesterday it reached the tip. The whole bill was wet.

cut the numbs off your stock foot rest and glue them in with crazy glue. Worked like a charm.

Reason for no nubs on the gas pedal, you're foot won't slip off unlike the brake/clutch pedals if you shoes are wet.....logic!

Resurrecting a 5 month old thread here fellas. Regarding the lack of rubber nubs on the gas pedal:
If you've ever driven a vehicle with bare feet, you'll notice that the pedal slides along your foot as you push it down if your heel is planted on the floor and you're using your ankle to move your foot. The gas pedal is on a fulcrum and your heel is another fulcrum. Envision your foot being welded to the gas pedal and trying to push it down with the fulcrum action of your foot, it wouldn't work and you'd have to use your whole leg as the lever instead. So, from that, we can see that the more traction you have on the gas pedal, the harder it would be to push the pedal(we're talking about being MINIMALLY harder, but on a 10 hour road trip or 2 hours in stop and go traffic, you'd come away wanting a smooth pedal, though you probably wouldn't know it unless you tried it directly afterwards).

Manufacturers purposely made the gas pedal smooth because the G35 is a high performance car. With a smooth gas pedal you can achive perfect heel-toe technique in da twisties.
