ok so from what i understand. since it CLAIMS better throttle response and faster shifts
really all i should need to ground is the throttle body, transmision, tcu and ecu. i dont really see what the purpose of the others are.
anyone disagree or have anything to add/?

For the sake of argument, you should get a 2nd and 3rd party to avoid any placebo effect or experimenter bias. Essentially, have 2 friends drive the car as is and report to you on shift response (or whatever the hypothesis is that your testing) and then ask them to return later that day after installation and have them report any difference (not if it shifts better or worse). This will be the closest thing to an empirical study you can do. To make the "study" more robust, you can have a control group, which would be a 2nd G as a comparison. In this way if there are any doubters they can't claim scientific bias. Your friends cannot be in on the purpose of the "study".
Then report your findings here with a description of your methods. This should settle it. If you install the wires and report your findings with you being the only "tester", your results can be said to be invalid from the very start and the arguments/debate will continue.
Good luck

Of course, i still think the best way is to actually measure the throttle / shift response. Could be easy to do with an accelerometer (to detect shifts), and then use the actual shift signal as a trigger signal so you can accurately measure timing delays, etc...
I've considered this mod, even though I am fairly skeptical about it's gain. I have seen on my previous race-car that better grounds did improve aftermarket ignition performance (like with a MSD 6AL box etc). However, why wouldn't Nissan just use better grounds? Wouldn't they want the benefits (if there are any) too? Would it be that much more expensive to add to the car from the factory? Didn't those highly paid/educated engineers think of/test this theory during the R&D of this car?
I will add for the sake of discussion that "Import Tuner" magazine (Dec 05) did a test of a grounding kit (same issue they also featured the plenum spacer) and they said quote: "We still are in doubt that the grounding kit makes power but we have tested them a dozen or so times and every single time they have made power" (1-2 hp)
So I will be observing anyone's actual quantifiable findings with much interest.

The factory could use better grounds, they could port and polish the manifold and heads, the could improve the suspension, they could use better leather, they could use better projectors, they could blah, blah, blah...get it?
No, I get it, but your taking your point too far. Of course there is a limit where they have to decide cost/benefit/time etc. of all the engineering ideas that are possible, they do have to stop somewhere. The point I was making was for this specific case; a few more wires would have added what, like 4 minutes and 20 dollars to the cost of a new G?
You sound really defensive about it, I know you make these kits SxExCx, but I was actually trying to support your mod by including the Import Tuner findings as well as my own experience with my race car.
I would think you would be as interested as anybody in someone doing an actual/measurable test. I'm in your camp; hoping it will prove it works, not disprove it.

Secondly, 4 minutes and 20 dollars may not seem much for a single car, but for an entire production line, it adds up. It could adds tens of millions of dollars depending on the quantity cars made, labor rates, etc...
Finally, whether it works or not, a grounding kit from a 3rd Party Manufacturer standpoint is a great product. Costs very little to purchase, hardly any labor required, and mark-up is substantial. Plus, the present model, regardless of whether it works or not, shows that many people will purchase the kit. So, it would be a loss NOT to produce and sell a grounding kit.

Manufactures try to save cents per car - there's no way they would spend $20 per car for something that the "majority" of owners wouldn't care about.
Edit - didnt realize the point had already been made in post above.
I agree, $20 a car would be a ton of money. Who knows how much more/better grounding wires would have cost from the factory, I just picked a number out of the sky. If it was 2 or 20, would it have mattered much if the sticker price was $41,233 or $41,243 if it meant the car idled/shifted smoother/etc (as has been claimed by some). It seems that would have been a goal of the factory as well (if beefier grounds indeed accomplish this).
Again, I was just riff'n about this mod for discussion sake, I know the factory can't do everything we wished it could, it has to balance benefit/cost/demand/mileage/etc,etc. So to get back to the original topic, if someone proves it actually does work, I'll be buying the very next one, if not, then it's a mod I'll live without.

After reading this long thread before buying a grounding kit, I honestly got a headache. I don't expect any hp gains from this mod, but I'm definitely adding a couple new gadgets to my car (rear cam, tv with hdmi monitor, LED strips in headlights, strobes, and maybe upgrade front speakers with an amp). I'm no electrician genius, but I'm sure I'll be needing a lot of grounding for my battery's sake. I have a friend that's had the grounding kit, and it improved his idol speed and current to lights (constant flow). The G's tend to suck up power from what I hear. I'll update with pics when installed. *2cents for more show under the hood*
I'm 3rd party and am electronics tech, the grounds are critical as they run everything, the HP gain will only be from the coil grounds at front of block F22 and F23 (check your manual) i don't like the not tinned copper lugs used, they will corrode and why not use as many points as you can on the block? i use 1 length (uncut 8 GA car amp wire) wire for all underhood connections and 6 GA plated lugs this allows you to fold the wire and just fits in2 the 6 GA lug no break in the cable. All lugs must be soldered for long term performance. My 06 G35X needs all points under hood batt ground, left fendor 2 points E22, E17 and right fendor E43 and 2 more not shown in manual. To get the ECU a wire must be run through the fire wall to m30 and or to M66 this covers all injectors, ECU and body control unit. My system has 5 block points and 9 body points, still have not got M66 yet but acceleration is WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Solder everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do it or don't bitch i don't wanna hear it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not selling anything.
