completely upgraded exhaust= vdc malfunction?

hey guys, i finally finished installing all my exhaust components. dc ss headers, helix ss test pipes, injen ses cat-back. i also have a nismo v2 cai. i was driving it hard one day after work to see if the mods had paid off, when suddenly the "slip" light that usually blinks when you lose traction came on and stayed on, then the vdc turned off by itself. this caused the car to slow down, no matter how much i stepped on the gas the car kept slowing down. this all occured while i down shifted from sixth to fifth and just took the foot off the gas. if anybody has any idea what could have happened please let me know, thanks

Still too slow...

Are you on your stock wheels and tires? And how much tire wear do they have on them? This happened with my stock wheels and tires 6 months after me driving it hard and having too much fun lol, when my tires became bald i would punch the gas, slip light would coem on and not go off but my car wasnt slowing down, weird!

Re: completely upgraded exhaust= vdc malfunction?

check your Mass Air Flow Sensor. The thing that plugs into the intake tube.

Just from reading your title I was wondering if you installed a CAI and bingo it was listed. My intake fell off one day from the throttle body and I had the same symptoms. (VDC came on, brakes locked up, error messages on navigation, car slowed down below 5mph, could not excelerate, car eventually died).

- So first make sure your intake is on correctly.
- If still an issue, check the MAF connection into the tube.
- if still an issue, check the wiring.
- if still an issue try replacing the MAF. It is sensative and can be broken easilly if you drop it.
