Installing Mods, quotes on price to install?
Installing Mods, quotes on price to install?
Longtime reader of G35Driver but first time poster. Here goes:
Hello, I am just getting into modding my G. I just sold my motorcycle and decided to sink money into my car (took all of 2 days to do it). And so I went the beginner route. After reading forums for years, I decided to get a MD Copper Plenum Spacer, clear corners, Piaa bulbs, tints, headlight and taillight tints, etc. I'm fine with doing the cosmetic stuff by myself. It's the spacer that's giving me trouble. I have this tendency to just jump right in on stuff without really doing any research, so I spent about 10 hours this weekend working on it (like 2 being productive, 8 trying to fix everything I messed up). I ended up installing the spacer and leaving out the copper part. There is somewhat of a hissing sound, haha I forgot to listen to the engine closely before I started so I'm not sure if it's new. Driving sounds somewhat different though... less raw. Not sure if that's the right sound. So! Here are actual questions:
1. How much should I pay someone to double check my installation
2. How much should I pay someone to install the copper part
3. I'm looking at buying an unorthodox racing pulley set (or at least crank). I most DEFINITELY don't want to try doing this myself. I dropped like 4 screws into my bumper while installing my plenum spacer -_-. Yea, so how much should I pay someone for this?
4. If any one would like to help, who is around the Los Angeles area, I'd be down with paying you instead. Keep money in the G community, right?
I have a 2003 AT Coupe, with plenum spacer and grounding kit installed (the former is poorly installed). Please help. Haha.

it took me a couple hours to install my mrev and spacer, the instructions that came with it were pretty straight forward, though having a torque wrench that measure in/lbs helped. if youre in la you dont really need the copper part, better off getting the control valve instead. $60 would be ok, maybe a little more if you had to install the gasket that goes under the lower plenum
the lower gasket is good, it helps prevent transfer of heat to the plenum. the valve is better than the copper piece since it can block the coolant entirely, the copper still circulates warm coolant around the throttle. if you check motordynes website, or look on youtube, there is a pretty thorough video of the install
