Re: How much have you spent modding?

OK, here we go...

Current Configuration (mod on the car): $18,172
Planned Configuration (upcoming wheels/tires/coilovers/computer): $22,062

And this is the one that hurts:
Money Lost due to removed/sold mods, research, trials, etc: $3472 (this is in addition to the above figures)

And I still have no idea how much my engine build is going to cost... damn, why did i ever get started on this!

Clint, you crack me up! Oh, and good seeing you friday!!!!

Another $3400 in things that have been replaced or are just sitting my garage.

I started the thread because I was about to check myself into mods-anon, but it looks like if I do I will have a support group right here

Clint, LMK know about those DC headers, I had a dream about them last night. Don't worry, I was a gentleman

$21,955 installed cash (I learned my lesson in college about credit cards). Wow this post really opened up my eyes. WTF I spent this much? I need to stop. This and the cost of bills and housing, this sucks...lol

Re: How much have you spent modding?

Around $260 for grounding kit, clear corners, Z tube and Greenstuff pads. (Never installed the Z tube and pads)

Don't plan on doing anything, since I would like to trade up to the new M45.

$17k+ is a lot of money to put into a $30-$35K car. I guess when I was younger I enjoyed doing all the mods to my cars, now that I am older, I am more content to just leave it stock.

Re: How much have you spent modding?

stock... what is that? my car had the aluminum pedals before I left the lot!

I've spent right around $3-3.5k w/ labor on what I have now, with the following planned in the next 3-6 months...

Technosquare Ecu - $650 (after shipping)
Tein Basic Coilovers - $900 installed
19" GT-C's w/ Toyos - $2800
Nismo Replica Front bumper - $600 painted/installed
Splash Guards - $150

Which will put me around $8.5K - then I'm done for a long, long time (hopefully at least a year) - I'm going to wait a while for more F/I solutions to come out and if I'm not going to go that route, I'm going to go with cams and P&P heads... I guess we'll see...

Clear Corners, Alum. Pedals, Pro-1 Intake, Resonated Test Pipes, UR Pulley, CF Engine Cover, GReddy EVO II, Kinetix Plenum, Hotchkis Sways, Pro-1 Headers

Re: How much have you spent modding?

Heys guys thats awesome...can you guys put in your mods and comments and pricing in this thread that I created and which is made into a sticky by the admin in the coupe general forum. Its called "List mods with price"

here is the link
https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...sed&sb=5&part=

this would really help people aspiring to put stuff into their cars and dont know squat...

any mods you have done...performance, looks anything...

Thanks a ton.

ps:- this is if you already havent done it..if you have..thats awesome and I thank you for it.

Re: How much have you spent modding?

Why not just leave it in this forum? Isn't it mods for sedans also? I rarely go to the coupe forum. (Not that anyone cares.)

Re: How much have you spent modding?

It is a lot of $ to throw at a car but I figure that I can get anywhere from 40-60% of my money out of them when I pull the stuff and sell the car. (at least this is what I keep telling myself. :-) I'm trying to justify another set of dedicated track wheels that i'll be lucky to use 5 times a year. I figure $2000 for a good set of 18"s (minus the tires of course) and I could probably sell them for $1500 a couple/few years from now with only 10-20 track days on them.
