Re: TEST PIPE SMELL?...
You have no cats now man. You're smelling the NOx and other crap that wasn't filtered ahahahahaha.
Oh, & you don't need to bump a thread after 40 minutes.. especially at 10:30pm.. Some of the older guys sleep around here. =)

Congradulations. You've discovered why catalytic converters
exist on cars today.
By removing them, you are not burning off any of the harsh
gases coming out of your engine. The smell is all the
noxious gases. When you stop at a light, you will notice
it the most as it "blows-by". People behind you will always
think that your car needs a "smog check".
And if you're in California, pray that a cop does not drive
behind you.

Re: TEST PIPE SMELL?...
I got the service engine light soon too, I reset the ECU 3 times and it always comes back on. I'm picking up a OBD2 scan tool and will see what it is, I'm thinking it's probably the O2 sensor, if it is then I'll get the O2 sims and be done with it.
Test pipe smell...When I first put them on you could smell the new metal burning in (if that's what you call it), just like when you get a new exhaust. After a day or two it went away, but the gas smell still remains.

Re: TEST PIPE SMELL?...
marty i had my car up on a lift doing the high-flow cat install and i figured i'd clean my tips while it was up there.
my friend had a little sampler package of Meguiars Metal Polish (i forget the exact name i have it in the car). i figured wtf might as well try it.
worked like a charm. squeeze out a lil bit of it into a clean shop rags and in 30 seconds of buffing i had both tips looking brand new.

You coming?

am i coming to Englishtown on Sunday or am I coming to HIN in Atlantic City? HIN is out for me b/c it's homecoming weekend at Villanova and i have a bunch of plans already set up.
are you guys just going to E-town to sign up or are you going for a little track time? i'm curious to let the G rip and see how it does with the new cats (even though they're vibrating the **** out of the heat shield right now)
