So..... my block is dead cuase of oil starvation on #6 piston and the piston flying out of the block and not even revving the engine just cruising, don't know why and I had just checked my oil level 3 day before this happened.

Anyways... my real question is, does anyone know if there is a other engine(vq35hr or vq37) that can direct fit on the vq35de 6 speed gearbox? And or any engine with gearbox that can fit on the stock driveshaft?

I don't mind getting a harnes with ecu or even doing e standalone just want to have something that can bold directly without modding or cutting anything.

 

How 'bout a VQ35DE? It's undoubtedly the cheapest, easiest, and quickest way to get it back on the road. You can use an engine from an auto trans car - just switch over the flywheel and make sure the sensors all plug in right.

I can source the used vq35de for @ $1500 now I can source also vq35hr for @ $1700 and the vq37VHR from the 370Z for @ $1900. But this is engine only. vq35de is a direct replacement. But I wanted to know if the other engines would fit directly also not looking into saving money just saving time and hasle of custom work.

 

I also would like to know this. My motor is eating oil like crazy. Did you find out any info on this?

All those engines fit if you use the manual transmission that comes with it. DE manual transmission is not compatible with the HR and VHR blocks. You need the complete wiring harness body and engine and all sensors. The driveshaft also fits the manual VHR/HR transmission and motor. You would also need the VHR/HR motor and transmission mounts.

I got quoted 3-4k for an emissions ready car as long as I had the motor and transmission already installed and just provided the harnesses and sensors.

 

If your talking about short block than DE or Rev up, any other would require additional modifications. Complete long Block swap than DE only.
