Diff and tranny oil changes
Hi guys,
I just wanted to double check before I buy this stuff that everything is good to go.
Amsoil SVG 75w90 for the diff. Nissan manual tranny fluid for the tranny?
Also, the DIY here says to replace the filler plugs. Is this necessary? If so, do the drain plugs need to be replaced as well?
Thanks.
EDIT: I just found out that the Redline Diff fluid is about 5 bucks cheaper per bottle. Is there any difference between the amsoil and redline fluid? It does get quite cold here if that makes any difference.

No need to replace entire plugs! There are gaskets on the plugs that the service manual says are not reusable, but most people here (myself included) have reused them without any problems. I have Redline fluids in my diff and tranny, but it doesn't get cold here. I've heard the Nissan tranny fluid is expensive, but Amsoil's is highly rated. I can't recommend Redline for the tranny as far as shift feel goes.
SVG 75W90 is good for the diff, hit me up for dealer price (I think you're local, right?) and for the MT you can use MTG 75W90 but I've had people tell me it makes the shifting a bit notchy -- better to go with the Nissan juice.
