traction control fail/safe mode

so my VDC and SLIP lights came on a few weeks ago. Took it to the dealership and they are getting code C1145 for faulty YAW/G SENSOR. According to them I need to replace the G sensor ($800) and the ABS module ($1200) which I think is total BS. Its weird that they both go bad at the same time. Anyways i read in the service manual that this will put the vdc/tcs in a fail/safe mode which will deactivate the system but leave ABS fully functional. I love the way the car drives now without the grandma oriented traction control.
Correct me if i'm wrong...I think is like unplugging the yaw sensor in a way which deactivates the traction control completely. If thats the case im not spending that much money to get this sensor and module replaced for now, I just got to be more careful in the rain, but wow what a difference I love it.

Well the service advisor told me that if i dont replace the parts it will get to a point that i wont be able to drive it anymore because everything is going to start malfunctioning I think they just want me to replace the parts. Does anyone have the same issue???

Pull the VDC fuse from the fuse box by your battery. Your car will run fine, but you won't have any traction control, yaw sensor, or ABS.

^^x2 i think ABS is more important in the rain than you would think. Traction control is a joke and if you have any idea how to drive it does you no good IMO. ABS on the other hand...

ABS are fully functional, It is only the VDC/TCS malfunctioning. ESM says that as long the ABS light is not on together with VDC off and SLIP lights, ABS will work normal. i should be ok for now
