Overheating problem and solved

I was having intermittent overheating problem this week-would overheat on short trip and then will be OK on long stop and go trip..But yesterday all went crazy-on the easy drive to work temp gauge needle went to max...
After work I drove it to garage (big thanks to Vic Simone-Toronto members know who I am talking about!)-with heater at full blast. Overflow tank was, well overflowing...with strong smell of coolant inside tha cabin.
And 5 minutes before the garage everything went back to normal! Temp dropped and all overflow got sucked in wherever it gets sucked in.
Vic did coolant flush and changed termostat. All was Ok on my drive home today. Coolant was nearly decomposed-it had "chunks", which were probably cloggin thermostat.
When I got home I started digging trough my receipts to see when I changed my coolant last time. F......! It was 5 years ago!
Lesson learned-coolant must be changed...sometimes
