only took me roughly 2 hours to get the motor/trans dropped on friday after work.

and at the same time my buddy finished porting the intake manifold, but the lower plenum isnt finished so you will see in the pics i have a non-painted lower installed for now.

gettin ready to put the motor on the crossmember

got started on the swap around 10am saturday. ended up gettin home around 2am. this included swapping all the parts on, i painted all the brackets/solenoids/plenums, AND did the wire tuck AND spent over an hour tryna get the coolant system bled (which was a royal PITA btw)

but this is the final result....for now still got more stuffs to do

imma be up that way within the next couple weeks so imma oohhhhhhh you! lol

thanks guys and it doesnt appear to be sylvan.....but i gave the machinist the complete rotating assembly from the pulley bolt back to the flywheel bolts to get balanced. so far i like how quickly it revs!

had a lil issue with it smoking, turns out this motor doesnt like a drilled out pcv valve if you are still routing to the plenum for the vacuum source. was filling up the catch can. now i have a new oem pcv valve on and no more smoking or filling up the catch can doh!

osiris tune setup at CIN this saturday for those who want to come chill with me while they do their magic!

Nice Progress, But like Sylvan I had the same question, ditched my KJR Crank Pulley and went back to OEM crank pulley for piece of mind.

Hope the machinist didn't balance bottom end with flywheel, VQ is internally balanced and will be a nightmare to replace flywheel.

Good luck with the tune, curious to see Dyno results

yeah i understand it may be internally balanced but thats all out the window once you throw aftermarket internals on it. cant wait for the tune on saturday, will def have vids from the outside and sheets for proof.

i know i know

lets start off with she dyno'd 281/242 as is before the tune. AFRs were here and there. so then there was the tuning session oh yeah, and the car was so loud that it would ring your ears if you were within 20ft from the car when it was doing a pull

welp, she made a lousy 310 hp/274 tq . it was a rather warm day, in the 90s, and the intake air temps were around 110-120*F. the 310hp pull had an iat of 112*. she didnt make any power past 6400 so the limiter was set to 6800. more than likely due to the plenums and MR long tubes, but i dont have that kinda money to dish out on cosworth and sg parts but i had a stock lower plenum on, so when i finish modifying the one i have at work, that will go on along with a walbro pump and maybe put on a stillen airbox/filter and see what diff she makes on a cooler day.

either way, she feels way better, i can def fill a bigggg midrange bump in power. im still tryna get used to NOT having to keep the idles up so the car wont die when i come to a stop tho lol. ben did have to kick the idle up to almost 1000rpm or else the car would cut off if you rev'd up and let the idle settle.

some pix and a couple vids for your eyes

all strapped down

ben gettin everything hooked up

anything to help cool her down

ben doin his thing...takin a smoke break

the chart

4th gear pull

5th gear pull
