APS plenum delayed.

I talked to a couple of guys at the APS booth at SEMA today and they say that the plenum is being reworked to include ports for nitrous wet jet and turbo applications. According to them we probably won't see one until next year.

Re: APS plenum delayed.

Sounds like the price will be going up as well. It would make sense for APS to make a NA version (APS-NA) of their plenum and sell it NOW! Then modify this iteration to make a Nitrous/Turbo compatible verson (APS-FI).

I bet they are really underestimating how many plenums they'll sell to the NA crowd.

Someone please take a photo from my profile and make me a cool sig...

Hate to admit it, but I agree with neffster again :=).
Put out the standard plenum and then make the mods. I hope they're listening.

Re: APS plenum delayed.

I wonder if something else is wrong with their plenum and they're using the Nitrous/FI enhancements as an excuse to buy them more time. It doesn't make sense that if it's ready for NA use they wouldn't just release it now and release the updated one when it's ready!

I'll be going back to the show tomorrow. I'll see what they think about a NA version. What kind of potential sales numbers can I throw at them? Anyone in the industry have an estimate?

Re: APS plenum delayed.

FI applications will be limited. I want a clean NA look.

Polished with no big fat honking logo.

They'll have my money.

Re: APS plenum delayed.

they should have an n/a one. they are going to loose sales. do you know how many people including me have held off for a while on the plenum just to get the APS. now no one will want to wait untill next year.

Re: APS plenum delayed.

I have been swapping email on the plenum, among other things APS, with a knowlegable contact. Here's what he told me -

"My sources at APS have told me the air flow testing is finished and they could produce the N/A version of the manifold at this time. However, they don’t want to spend the money tooling the production line before they have finished their secondary fuel system design and testing as this could require slight modifications to their original design. The way APS works may not be the most efficient but then again you won’t see the need for recalls and revisions to the manifolds after they are released as some manufacturers have found. I understand your frustration as I am in the same boat, but they rely on their customer satisfaction and reputation to sell their products. Last I spoke with them on this subject it was not that far off for production, I will follow up when they get back from SEMA and keep you informed."

Additionally, you may know that APS was leaning towards including the 350z strut tower brace with all manifolds, obviously, something G35 owners don't want. I have made certain he reiterated the fact that they must sell the plenum separately from the stb. And I will second the motion, no big honkin' logo!
