Leaking coolant, water pump, timing chain tensioner.
#16
wow! Had I known this I would have done this myself. well maybe, im still not convinced i can play with the timing chain though. I just replaced the thermostat on my own and took it to the dealer for a waterpump replacement. Mine was leaking from the waterpump cover. I paid over $700 this past weekend. Idk if they changed the chain tensioner though, i know they removed that cover because I can see leftover silicone on it. Ill call in and ask.

Question
I changed the water pump today. I followed the service manual.
Tools)
- 19mm socket (to rotate the crankshaft)
- M8 - 1.25mm pitch - 80mm length bolt, 2EA (to pull out the water pump)
- Sockets, drivers, socket extension, ...
My car just passed 110k miles. Tensioner was in good condition but I replaced it because of chain noise for 0.5~1 sec at cold start in the morning. Water pump was also in excellent condition. The problem was the o-rings.
Timing chain & guide. Wow.

I recommend you read the section of the FSM, it's under CO - Cooling. It's sort of a tedious and nonstandard process.
