Post Bad Camshaft Position Sensor on '06

Just thought I'd throw my experience for this weekend up here.

Check engine light came on with a noticeable reduction in power, but made it home. I did the gas pedal code to get the code out - P0340. Luckily my car is still under warranty, so it was towed to the dealership, where they pulled the code and threw the new part in there.

The car has only about 45,000 miles on it.

Not surprising. Glad it's warranty for you. New part is about $53 at the parts store, or $105 dealership price.

i've heard of people having issues with aftermarket sensors. Stay with OEM on these if you can.

While in many cases I agree, on these parts in particular, (and some others, of course) if the OEM ones are good to begin with, then why do they so often need changing in the G35? I say save the money - the sensor can't be that much worse than the original.

You are lucky that it is still under warranty, I paid almost $200 for the part and services.
