The Unichip, Coming soon for the G35/350z
Unichip will be releasing its product for the G35coupe/350z platforms sometime in December. V6P.Net just finished joint testing and R&D'ing w/ Unichip for use for the Accord V6 platforms. Check out this link for info and dyno charts regarding the Accord V6 platforms.

Pricing hasn't been worked out yet and the "official" release date hasn't been given to us yet. You can check out V6P's video lounge for a video presentation of how the Unichip works at:
http://www.v6performance.net/forums/...ad.php?t=41679
We've been after this thing for years and they finally made one for our Accord V6's. Soon they'll be releasing it for your cars as well as the RSX. We'll be posting more dynos charts as they come in and will be starting threads and our V6P marketing poll to find out how many G35 coupe owners might be interested.

Re: The Unichip, Coming soon for the G35/350z
I'm not interested in seeing numbers for a NA chip, I'm more interested in seeing what exactly is adjustable as a result of the chip and how it keeps the ECU from "resetting" itself or working around the piggyback. The more flexible the piggyback, the more interested I'd be for a NA application.

Actually
Unichip is a standalone computer and not a piggyback.... at least the one that is used on the APS kit. I would love to have this on my car eventually..... this is very good news.

OK...just had a long talk with Unichip.... here are my findings:
1. I stand corrected.... Unichip IS a piggyback and NOT a standalone.... this is disappointing (to me personally).
2. It does come with all the plug-in harnesses.... so it IS truly plug-n-play.
3. You cannot modify the maps or tune the car yourself (which 95% of the peopleshould not be doing anyway).
4. It will be ready in the first-second week of Decemeber -- wooohooo...!!!
5. Retail price: $825
The more competitors, the better......

Re: The Unichip, Coming soon for the G35/350z
So can I tell them which mods I have and they will adjust the piggy back to work with my vehicle? It doesn't sound like it... For $800+ I'd expect at least 10rwhp over the entire rpm range. Heck, Crawford Headers are only $1100 and that's a sure thing.

sorry, still dont know how to post links. At the borrom of the first page it is stated that they saw gains of 34hp in the power band by tuning with a similar unit, and that is naturally aspirated.

Re: The Unichip, Coming soon for the G35/350z
I can't check that link out cause my350z is down
but I think I know what your talking it bout its the 6MT PerfectPower piggyback that MRC motorsports was working on, they told me earlier in the powerband the car was running extreme rich they leaned it out and they gained 34 whp and I think they got like 15 peak whp

Re: The Unichip, Coming soon for the G35/350z
A friend of mine had a Unichip on his E55 MB. What a waste of money. He told them the exact mods he had and they tuned it 'specifically' for his car. We went to the drag strip and did about 10 runs. The ones where the Unichip were hooked up were about 3 mph SLOWER than the ones when it was off. That is correct, SLOWER. That thing got chucked pretty fast. It cost him $600 and did absolutely nothing except slow him down...

As I posted before. Goto this link to see our results for the Accord V6
http://www.v6performance.net/forums/...9&page=1&pp=20
There are charts and dyno's for your viewing pleasure.
With just a CAI and Unichip, the test car gained 17.6 bph and 14.5 lbs-ft in torque.
I not familiar with your friends Mercedes so I can't comment on that. Did he talk to Unichip further about the problems. Most importantly, did he dyno his car? You stated he went to the track. Was his reaction time exactly the same before and after the Unichip? What was the weather like? Anyone who has raced at the track knows that there are so many variables when comparing trap-times that its difficult to tell your gains. That's what dyno's are for. Better yet, even a G-Tech can show you more info than a trap-time. Just a thought.
We'll be posting dyno charts and other info on our site once its released to us by Unichip. Much like our project with the Accord V6's, we expect to duplicate the same success for the 350z and G35c's. So stay tuned and start saving your money. V6P will be offering special pricing for the G35/350z Unichips and I'll be posting those once its set.
