New Owner! 04 6MT question!!

So to make a long story short I bought a 04 6mt with 92k Miles. Single owner and in great condition! As soon as I got off the lot and on the street SES light comes on. Had my brother in law check the code at Auto zone. It was the TPS. Forgot the code that came up but it said TPS. So took it back to the dealer and the took it to Nissan and fixed it at their expense. So got it back 2 days later and wow the car pulled harder and felt real powerful! So 3 miles later SES comes on again... Pull the code and this time its p0507 Which is the Idle Control System and says Idle Control System RPM Higher Than Expected. I cant find any intake leaks at all. But I havent taken it all apart yet. I had my brother in law go ahead and clear the code and I also did the idle relearn thing so the SES light finally went away after the 3rd time. The car isnt feeling as powerful as after they fixed the TPS.
Im getting about 16mpg and doesnt feel anywhere near as powerful as it used to be at WOT. Any help??
Thanks alot!!
-Mike

I would take that back to the dealer. If it is still relatively close to purchase they should at least look at. Worst case you'll know exactly what's wrong.

Man that sucks. It might be worth a try though, since you know the code. As far as the gas mileage I get around 18 city and 22 highway, but I have mods. 16 sounds low. definitely check for a leak or even make sure MAF is with properly. I've had mine for 5 years never had that problem. At one point I was getting really bad gas mileage but an oil change fixed that problem.

Well I've heard that using the wrong oil can rob you of power. There's an oil thread that will give you more info. Sounds like you might have to have someone look at it.

16MPG around town? If so, that could be about normal. I drive like an old vagina around town and can barely do better, and my car is a virgin 05 with only 33K...

And it is in great condition.

Heard from where?

If you use an oil significanty heavier than what's recommended your engine could theoretically be "loaded" differently and lose horsepower. How much and if you could actually feel it in the seat of your pants is arguable. I'm sure the fanbois can measure horsepower by the tenth using just their left buttcheek, but I, a mere human, cannot.

I seriously doubt that a reputable service facility would have put anything in your car so significant to cause what you think you're feeling.

Well thats with me driving like i stole it because i just got it and wanna see what it can do. It walked my 3000gt on the highway but from light to light it stayed right next to it. Im sure if it was a cold start run cuz thats where my G is getting the most power id blow it away in 2nd. Driving to work this morning on cold start felt awesome and sounded awesome in any gear but once warmed up i feel that loss of acceleration. When im off ill clean the maf and try again.
