Cold AIr Intake

What cold air intake for the G35 Coupe will yield the most horsepower gain?

If you do a search, you'll see that this has been discussed at length on various threads.

Don't expect ANY CAI to give you any significant gains on the G35! Mostly for sound, looks and bragging rights.

Many report that they notice some low-end losses, and extra lag. Some notice a bit of gain at the top end.

The best bang-for-your-buck intake mod seems to be a simple Z-tube transplant with a K&N panel filter.

not a cold air... but the jwt popcarger gives pretty consistent gains on the Z's, like 4-7hp at the wheels, and it cost half as much.... the g35's do have different intake tube though, you should also get a Z-tube.

I have the nismo cai v3. Its the newest version out right now. There seems to be no low end torque lost. And u definitely feel a lil bit more power on the top end. But i agree the performance increase from the stock intake or any ram air intake compared to the cai is minimal. Most of the extra money just goes into looks. So its really up to you and what u prefer. Any intake for our cars isn't goin to blow your mind in terms of performance. Basically it narrows down to this. If you just want your car to sound meaner buy the ztube and popcharger or k&n. If you want your car to look cool and sound mean, then buy the cai.

I got the Injen Intake and i love it. Noticed some gains @ top of thr rpm band. But i noticed more gains when i get my exhaust. Another good plus about getting a CAI is that you turn it into a Short Ram Intake. So you get best of both worlds .

I agree, the Injen showed veryg ood gains on my dyno, baseline dyno on a mustang was 231 RWHP and 240 lb ft of torque, with just intake!

Injen here as well. I felt mid range was more responsive when installed. Also sounds awesome under heavy acceleration!

did you have a real baseline test done without the intake?

Also, can you use the Injen CAI in conjunction w/ the Z-tube?
