Exclamation Want to change my spark plugs, need advice regarding the oil leak

Hi, I have seen a lot of people have issues with finding oil in the spark plugs when changing. I want to change mine soon, but dont want to get an unpleasant surprise and then wait for a response here / an expensive repair.

I want to put in some NGK Iridium IX, and I was planning on doing it myself. If I find oil, what are my next steps? Is the risk worth it for the new plugs (Currently at 133,000 KM) Should I have it done at the dealer (That way, if something happens, they will be able to deal with it there)

Thanks for any input

If you find oil, the first step would be to remove as much of it as possible from where it doesn't belong. On the one hand, you could just remove the oil and change the plugs and be done with it, on the other hand, you could pull the valve covers off and do one of three things:

a) replace the valve covers with new ones
b) modify your existing covers to accept replaceable spark plug tube seals
c) send your covers off and in exchange you will get modified ones with seals in place that will be replaceable as needed in the future.

for b & c, you can read this thread: http://my350z.com/forum/engine/51287...asket-set.html

No reason to go to the dealer here, as pulling the plenum and covers is pretty straight forward.
