2 quick questions re engine bay mods

1) I want to paint some plastic parts. If I spray my battery covers and other plastic parts with adhesion promoter, do I still need to get a base coat designed for plastic parts or can I use regular paint?

2) who much thread-locker/Loctite should I get for replacing most of the bay bolts with SS bolts? the smaller $6 bottle or the big $26 bottle?

1) It won't hurt to use both, but if you don't want to buy both I would just go with the plastics paint.

2) The small bottle should be plenty, it just takes a drop.

I also saw your thread asking about bolt sizes for the timing cover, I took mine out this weekend to get them for you but didn't have anything to measure them yet. I will get you the sizes as soon as I can.

thank you soooooooo much Rob, I only have the sizes of the cam covers (M6x16mm) and water pump cover (M6x12)

I wanted to avoid using plastic paint because I wanted to use OB paint matched to the color of my car. But I guess I should use regular black plastic paint + adhesion promoter

If you can send me all of the sizes for the bolts on the timing cover I'll make sure this info is stickied it in the engine section. I get this question all the time from people.
