Noise before gear change from 1st to 2nd

I think I originally posted this post in the wrong forum as it is a tech issue for my 06 g35 sedan.
On first start up I get a ratcheting/squelching sound after moving off just before the tranny shifts to 2nd gear. It doesn't happen again that trip but may do it on restart if left sitting.
Is there some kind of pressure build up in a system that leaks away when the car sits, is this a normal sound event with this car or is there a pressure leak somewhere?
I am new to G35's although I love it already and have a warranty so want to check every odd noise out before it runs out.
Thank you,
Michigan.

Hmmmm. Not sure about "squelching" but the Symptoms seem to suggest the rear axle kicking problem that is quite common with our rides. Search axle clicking on here I think you can read about others describing it and see if that's it. It can be covered by extended warranty on a dealer by dealer basis (had mine covered).

Noise description

I had a transmission mechanic ride with me and listen to the "brief ratcheting sound" I called it a mechanical sqelching sound, it comes when the car first changes from 1st to 2nd, at the high end of the rev band before changing. It only occurs once between start up and shut downs on that first gear change. Once warmed up the noise seems to get quieter on subsequent start up.
Are there any other systems that "pump" up which I should trace, It's not an axle noise and is very specific when it occurs. Any ideas?
Thank you,
Michigan.

I'm assuming this is an automatic. If so, my 03 sedan has done it since I bought the car used back in January 2005. I can hear it even when the motor and tranny are fully warm. I have no idea what it is, but it doesn't seem to cause a problem. My best guess is it's cold accessory belts slipping on the full throttle shift. I've never heard the sound during part throttle shifting though.
