What oil is recommended for G35?
Sup g35d! I just bought a g35 and I'm to the forum. Upgraded my 240 to an 06 6mt g35. I had been using 10w-30 synthetic on the 240 and I'm not sure what oil weight is recommended for the G. Has 75k miles. Any advice is welcome.

Use 5w-30 or you can use 0w-30 European Formula Castrol Syntec

I teach calculus for a living. If a student asks me a question, I help them. I don't tell them to search in their effing book... Even if I've told them before. Let's be helpful instead of mean, and make this site a better place. :) |
Welcome to driver! :thewave:

What's with the chip on your shoulder? This kind of post is not necessary. It's shorter to say the answer than to flame for not searching.

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." By teaching new members like yourself (dec 11) and radiohead (jan 12) how to search for answers, you will find the necessary information provided in this website containing endless amount of data. Its fine asking but I would like to see some amount of effort in searching and reading before making duplicate threads. Who likes the student that never tries and only looks for short cuts? |
^+1 yup! if kev wants to keep repeating himself in his little world (see wat i did there lol) then go ahead and do that baby stuff elsewhere. here we'd like to teach people how to find answers themselve and if there isnt and answered question by all means post a question

I'm on 4 other forums and I know how to use search engines. I found a thread that suggested 5w-30 but it had lower mileage than my G (mine has 75k). So I figured I should start a new thread. As the time is approaching for me to do my first oil change I wanted to get some educated advice from fellow members.
I didn't know something as simple as asking what kind of oil I should use would spark such commotion. Pardon my noobness... |
no problem, your noobiness is forgiven
And welcome! :hello: |
5W-30 is the type that Infiniti recommends.
It's good to go with a company such as mobil, castrol, pennzoil. Buy synthetic if you can. |
Your welcome and info is appreciated:) Thank you.

For some reason people here rave about the 0w-30 Castrol (German made?) I personally have yet to try it, was thinking about going with that on my next change
