Getting to my last power mods... Stillen Engine Damper/AMS Pulleys
Getting to my last power mods... Stillen Engine Damper/AMS Pulleys
So after installing headers, high flow cats, the borla exhaust (With X-pipe), MD 5/16" spacer, stillen intake, 3.5 Final Drive and the Carbon LSD, I think I am getting close to the last mods my car will see. Now it is about getting the power down to the wheels.
Does anyone have the Stillen Engine Damper brace / AMS Pulley Set? The most important things for me while Im considering these mods (in order) are:
1. IS IT SAFE?
2. Will It feel faster?
Thanks if anyone can help with these.
On a side note, I was also considering JWT cams but dont know if they will work well without a tune (First gen 5AT Sedan aka not tunable with Osiris). Does anyone have any info on this?

He has a custom tune to go along with it though, I think it is technosquare, and they no longer do custom tunes
I have the Stillen engine damper. I could tell from the first time i started her up. Only con was more vibration in the steering wheel but that was expected and as for the pros: smoother shifts and alot better launches that felt like i was getting more power down to the ground. Im 6mt so it felt really good feeling the difference in 1st and 2nd on launches.
Oh and havent ordered my ams pulleys yet either

i have both the AMS pulleys and Stillen engine damper, feel faster? not by much, more responsive, yes. as for the JWT cams, i got my TS tune like 4 yrs before the cams, LOL. Jim Wolf said no tune was needed to run, but for optimal gains, then yes but that goes for all the bolt-on's you have. if you want something you'll really feel, look into a 1pc driveshaft, either cf or aluminium. i got my cf one installed not too long ago and it gave me a real kick in the pants.
^^ +1000 on that carbon driveshaft......and if youre looking to get more power to the ground get a upgraded clutch/flywheel combo...like jwt. it will only benefit u.
also what headers did u get??

I have a 5AT so the clutch/flywheel isn't there for me to upgrade, but they are Top Speed Headers, coated in Cermakrome to keep the heat from radiating.

nah, never heard anything negative about the AMS pulleys. i've been running them for 4yrs or so w/o any problems. the 1pc cf shaft was $1095 for our group buy. a 1pc aluminum shaft could be had for well below half that and weigh nearly the same though. as for your idle w/cams, it can be adjusted w/o a tune.

I will probably go for the stillen engine damper brace and maybe the driveshaft this summer. Do you know who I can contact for the driveshafts?
Thanks
^The only real differences between a 1pc cf vs aluminum shaft are the power capacity and vibration dampening. advantage going to cf on both accounts, BUT realistically you'd be fine with an NA car for power and since you're auto it'd already dampen out any bad vibes. aluminum is the smarter buy but cf is the better product.
for cf contact: PowerTrain Industries @ (714) 893-4585, ask for Bryan tell him Mark gave you his info

another "good" thing about a cf shaft is IF buy some act of God you do break your shaft, it'll splinter and only destroy it's self. a 1pc aluminum shaft will flail around possibly destroying your under carriage and other close by components.
