I was in the auto parts store looking at oils and they had 2 different bottles of German Castrol...

One was the traditional GC bottle I have seen on the shelf for years (0W30, made in germany noted on the back.)

The second was still 0W30 and made in germany but the bottle was slightly different and was labeled as "Castrol Edge with SPT" on the front...

Does anyone know the difference between these two oils?

 

Same thing. They changed the name of it.

 

I wouldnt be surprised if that were true...seems to be the case across the board (Castrol Import multivehicle atf is called transmax now) etc
