Power steering pump cleaning

Quick question.... anyone know if it's safe to clean the power steering pump casing with brake cleaner? Or is there something sensitive with the pump?

I've basically taken the engine apart and want to clean all the dirt and grease off the P/S pump before putting it back in. Im not talking about cleaning the internals of the pump, just the outside casing

I dont see a problem as we use it all the time at the shop to clean up all kinds off stuff.
