injen cai install question

I'm putting on the Injen CAI this weekend. The instructions say to take off the bumper...well that ain't happening. It also looks like I have to cut the wheel well to place the filter into. I'm not very mechanically inclined but I'm going to attempt it. My questions are:

1. Are there tips from some of you who have done this.
2. Will I have a problem with this in the wheel well during the torrential downpours we get here in FL?

Any input would be great!

I took off the inner fender liner in front of the tire, pushed the filter thru there, joined the filter and tube together from up top, then used a long **** screwdriver to tighten the clamp thru the front bumper (after you remove some of the impact foam of coarse). I wasn't taking mine off either, screw that! I've driven in snow, downpours, puddles, behind semis spraying god knows what etc and ever had a problem with water. You would have to submerge the filter for water to suck up the tube. Love my Injen. Favorite part I've bought to date.

**god help us if this turns into a debate over hydro locking**

Why not take off the bumper cover? It's not hard to do and it makes the install MUCH easier then what XCELR8 described. I've taken the bumper cover off my sedan a few times, no sweat.

DO NOT cut your wheel well liner! That's insane. If you are dead set against taking the bumper off then pull back that fender liner like XCELR8 described. All the water, dirt, mud that will get dumped onto the cone filter with a big hole in your fender liner can't be good.

Great stuff guys. Can't wait to get it on.

I think I'm becoming a mod junkie. I had the UR pulley put on today and love it.

Hey, on a side note...what's going to give me more power a set of test pipes or a high flow cat? I'm thinking that this is my next mod.
