Osiris standard can be set back to stock anytime. Hyper tech or anything else that doesn't tune with a dyno is garbage. I'm not saying you won't feel a difference, but it will be minimal and won't be a nice curve, afrs, adv timing based on you actual car.

Yea but If I set back my ecu with the Revup I'm wasting 650 because I can't go back to the place to get it tune again after I get my inspection sticker
Right??? ,

You use the cruise control switches to toggle between different settings. Set to stock, pass inspection, then reset to the performance setting to drive away.

we're talking about flashing the ecu back to stock and completely removing the tune and osiris license, which you can do at any time as long as you have the cable and the back to stock rom file. You get neither of these when you get dyno tuned at a shop.

OP- the hypertech is junk don't do it.

My comment is kind of off topic...but hypertech is using my 08 F250 to do some emissions testing right now...I have never heard if them until like 2 weeks but they seem pretty legit

Is that necessary for an inspection?

Well to answer your question ....you need Uprev Osiris Standard, which is $500 retail, to get the OBD II cable, Software License, and Cipher Diagnostics. From there you spend ~$250 on a dyno tune, which you can take off at anytime with OBD II cable, and put back on with OBD II cable as long as tuner gives you the map he creates(free) with dyno. It's actually all quite simple. Osiris Standard package ($500) is the way to go. If you simply buy Osiris + Tune (~$550) then you can't remove it, and you don't get Cipher Diagnostics (good program for anyone with a G).

-Hope that clarified for you.

Both Osiris standard and Osiris tuner version work. Which he wants is up to him, and Osiris standard comes with 3 free etunes so you don't necessary "need" a dyno tune; if you're planning on paying for a dyno tune you might as well watch the classifieds for a used Osiris standard cable and pick it up for $400 or so. No since paying full retail if you're not going to use the etunes.

Right, well seeing how he doesn't seem very savvy, I assume that the Standard would be appropriate. And as for etuning- might as well go with a piggy back. I had 2 etunes and they were both absolutely worthless.

Tune vs dyno tune

Just because you didn't see good results from etunes doesnt mean they're all garbage.

Etunes are meant to be close every car is different. The only difference between your dyno and etune is that he leaned you out a little for more power. Your etune was closer to 13.0 than your tune.

Only a dyno tune can get the most out of Osiris. I bet that etune was better than being untuned.

It also depends on how much time the tuner spends going back and forth with etunes, if you just start with a base map and do 1 or 2 updates of course its not going to be ideal, each log and adjustment is similar to one pull on the dyno... and you can only adjust so much before you have to run her again and see how its responding.

What you don't see is that 17+ a/f at times with etune. Etunes are real crappy. Plain and simple. I had one made by z1performance. 1 by Uprev. Both gave my butt dyno + 0 gain, choppy acceleration. If anyone wants an etune then go for it- not this guy.

Is it better than stock? Maybe. Let's say 10% better. Well then I'd say a dynotune is 100% better.

If you were hitting 17:1 AFR then there was something seriously wrong.
