Exclamation Throttle lag , can anyone give me an answer :(

Just purchased an 05 G35 Sedan with 60k miles the other day. Love everything about the car.

Only gripe is when I press the gas, I can actually count to 1 Mississippi before the rpms raise?

Engine and everything sounds fine but I have no idea what could be cause this. Even my 01 eclipse before didnt have lag.

Any input would be greatly appreciated on what could maybe be wrong

Try the throttle/ecu reset. The last page of the Motordyne MREV install manual has the info on how. Link here: http://www.motordyneengineering.com/manual.pdf

What's the fastest easiest way to reset the ecu, I saw 3 different ways. Also are there any side effects of reseting it. Thanks guys

Disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for 5-10 minutes. Obviously you will have to reprogram your radio afterwards.

so absolutely nothing will go wrong if I unhook the negative wire , other than the radio reseting and hopefully fixing this throttle lag?

Don't try and use the battery as an arc welder and nothing will go wrong.

You'll also have to reset the sunroof if you have one.

Sounds like an ECU reset is what you need. You should learn the easy gas pedal method. I usually do it after every fill up (at the gas station) The only side effect is you gas mileage goes down. It's worth it to me to have the car peppy again.

If you do the ECU reset by pedal method, use the timer on your iphone or stopwatch, it's pretty finicky about timing of the procedure steps. Should take only a minute to complete.
