Car wash + CAI.. Safe?

I usually go to the self car washes, but if some water was to touch the cone filter would something happen ? Don't want any damage to the engine so I was wondering if short ram would be a better and safer bet. Is there difference in power ?

If you want to know difference between cai vs sri then search for that...only way you can hydrolock the engine,is if cai filter was submerged in water and sucks into engine..Carwash wont do that..lol

You really didn't give us much information about what CAI you're using! Is it the long tube that puts the cone filter in the lower grille? To be safe, pay the car wash the extra $$ to hand wash your car!

Yea I wouldn't ever wash your car with an open filter like that.

Open filter? A CAI pipe just runs down toward the bottom of engine bay to suck in cooler air..It should be somewhat protected from plastic wheel well and of course the hood of the car..lol Washing the car or even in rain wont do anything..Unless there is a flood and you drive your car deep enough to submerge the cone filter

why get either? stock airbox makes as much power, if not more, especially with ram effect.
