CJM stage 3 rev A installation

Hi, has anyone installed the CJM FRS on their own?? I just got the twin pump (custom 3 off haha) and all the rest of the items. Wondering how challenging of an install this is with the proper tools.

Thanks!

Stage 3? What kind of insane build do you have going to need a return fuel system?

Last time around my fuel delivery was the problem. Stock lines and dropped in a DW300... Cracked a piston. Went big, I've done a lot the last few months and the single walbro 416lph isn't cutting it. Long story short the stock system with an upgraded pump wasn't the best idea but the CJM is pricey. So what I have now is kinda a stage 3.5 I guess. There are only 3 255/485 pumps out there made by CJM and I have one. Does that count as half a stage?

Your asking an ambiguous question.

Its not that hard for anyone with basic skills. I see a lot of mods people have paid someone to do that seem simple bolt on's.

Started off with a AAM stage I FRS system. Now run a CJM Twin pump with 8 AN supply and 6 AN return using all AN lines/fittings.

I don't feel the question is ambiguous at all. Routing lines, connecting a FPR and installing fuel rails is one thing. You have to install a separate resistor according to CJ and do all the wiring yourself. It's not completely plug and play, did you wire your pumps to run in series or is it sequential? Also, did you do the AAM install alone before you upgraded to the CJM. This is fuel we're talking about and obviously doing this perfect the first time is extremely important.

I did the AAM stage 1 install first 7 years ago before any other options available.

Pumps were originally wired for sequential (primary powered from factory ECM secondary triggered by UTEC) but difficult to tune. Both Pumps wired now for continuos operation.

Understand its fuel, thats why my fuel system is plumbed using all AN fittings. All electrical connectors are soldered and sleeved then taped.

Suggest you also pickup some DEI sleeving to insulate fuel lines near exhaust manifolds.

Seems like you have done the research so it goes back to your question as ambiguous. Its not plug and play its basic 12VDC wiring and plumbing, not challenging just time consuming.

Now we're making some progress. I guarantee a person who has never done this will find the information helpful. Btw the CJM kit comes with all the AN fittings now.

One other thing recommend installing a 10 Micron In Line fuel filter, the return line diffuser mounted in pump housing acts like a filter causing return pressure to increase. I may have crappy gas in area but it hasn't been a problem after filter installed.

Good luck with install, take your time and PM me with any questions or ideas.

Another CJM improvement. He supplies an aeromotive filter as well with the kit.
Thanks for the advice I should be able to knock this out.

The hardest part as getting the relay wiring done, after that it's pretty much straight forward...also, its a lot of fun figuring out the hose fitment with the limited space...

There are quite a bit of info on my350z for the pump installation, and on CJM's website...

Update* Under the advice of my tuner I'm going to have both pumps running all the time. Wiring it up with a relay wouldn't have been too much of a pain, but I'm not the one doing the tuning. He did bring up that the fuel temp would be more stable because of both pumps running. At this point im waiting for my tuning session. (Hopefully in a day or 2).
Thanks for the info and advice!

Thank you JWT!! They wired in a relay and I could wire my 485 pump thru it. I planned to run it straight thru the battery no problemo but the original owner had a relay installed.
