350z rev-up to G35 non rev-up engine swap

Hi everyone!

I've read a lot of topics here and at http://my350z.com/ about swap but I didn't find a full answer to my question. Let me explain:
  • I know the difference between VQ35DE rev-up and non rev-up.
  • I know the difference between 350z and G35
  • I know the difference between G35 '03 and G35 '04-06.

I have '04 G35 with MT and my engine has been broken (oil starvation) and I've decided to replace the engine. I've found 350z MT with rev-up engine with ECU, harness, keys and etc.

Theoretically, it should fit perfectly to my G35 but I'm not sure about my BCM module. If there any issues with link ECM-BCM if I replace my ECM with 350z's ECM? (ECM means engine ECU and BCM means Body Control Module if someone didn't know)
  • I know that there is an issue with oxygen sensors and I had to replace my sensors with Z's sensors.
  • I know I had to reprogram keys in ECM and BCM modules because car wouldn't start because of NATS.

But I'm not sure about communication between Z's ECM module and G35 BCM module. Is there any issues? Will the combination meter working? Maybe there are some harness issues in this combination (f.e. some wires means not the same on Z and G35).

Thanks for your help!

I know this is very old post but I'm going through this same issue. My 04 g35 6mt motor burnt out and my mechanic swapped an 05 350z 6mt into my car but it won't start. Mechanic said motor isn't sparking. He's using my original harness, ECM, sensors, and transmission. If you successfully got your car up and running, can you please tell me what I need to do to get mine running?

Does anyone know the complications involved with fitting a VQ35DE rev up engine in a G35 which originally had a non rev up engine?

EDIT: What would happen if you simply installed the rev up engine and didn't use anything to control the exhaust side variable valve timing?

I was referring to the comment about not using anyhing to control the variable exhaust valve timing... How would you expect that to work? You would need the ECU to match the engine... And the wiring harness at least.

What exactly is wrong with building your own 6 speed TT sedan? I wasn't about to sell this car for a coupe to be like everyone else... And snow mode is good for the rain. What gives... I don't see what you're getting at.

Oh my. No offense intended. I took it you were commenting on swapping rev up for non-rev up. It's not the easy way to go. And your swap out isn't the easy way to go, plus boost to boot! My comment came from the place of utmost respect.
