Im getting an awful sound when I start my car
Its hard to describe but it sounds like gear or crank thats not catching and is grinding. Its most similar to a grinding noise
It will only happen for a second or less at startup then its gone

Anyone ever had similar problems?
Ideas?

 

ya there was a thread about this....it should be ok, not to get stressed over it...do a search on this forum and also on my350z...they also posted about the same problem. i wouldnt worry about it though!

Apparently its the timing chain tensioner not getting lubrication

Good to hear its not a real problem

That noise really does scare me though, its rather awful
