So should i just get a good used OEM one and have the shop cut out the resonator and keep it as a straight pipe?

I bought a used OEM for like 50 or 80 bucks I can't remember. Walker makes an aftermarket one as well, but I've heard good and bad things about it.

You might be able to have a muffler shop just work with your existing one if it's not too damaged. I needed to have the replacement one cut and welded to my muffler since the flanges were shot.

Why don't you just have the shop bend you a new midpipe with no resonator. ***** like $75.

They are because they create turbulence. It gives the expelled exhaust a place to swirl around and not move out as efficiently. Same thing with the G intake tube. That extra chamber is to create turbulent air. Switch to a Z-tube and the difference is instantly noticeable.
